Blackboard Self Enrollment
So you want to enroll in one of the Department of Transportation (DOT)
classes that are offered by Environmental Health and Safety. They are offered
through Cornells Blackboard web site, and you must be enrolled to view them.
1. Get a Blackboard Account (already got
one? skip to step #2)
2. Find the Site
3. Enroll
1. Get a Blackboard Account
a. Go to http://blackboard.cornell.edu,
which is the main entry point for Blackboard.
b. Click on the
"Create Blackboard Account" link and follow the directions. Note:
You can only create a Blackboard account if you have a valid Cornell NetID. If
you don't have a NetID, you'll need to get a
GuestID.
c. After you've
submitted the form, you will receive an email confirmation of your request.
You'll receive a second email when your account has been created.
2. Find the Site
a. If you aren't
already logged into Blackboard, go to http://blackboard.cornell.edu,
which is the main entry point for Blackboard.
b. Click the
"Login" button. This will take you to your "My
Blackboard" page.
c. Click on the
"All Blackboard Sites" tab along the top of the page.
d. Click on the
Environmental Health and Safety course catalog link on the right.
e. DOT courses are
listed under Shipping Hazardous Materials and Dangerous Goods by hazard
class. Remember that the General Awareness class must be taken prior to any
hazard class.
3. Enroll
a. Click on the
Enroll button to the right of your course.
b. Click the Submit
button that you see next.
c. Click the
"Okay" button on the next screen to go straight to the site. Now, a
link to the site should appear in the My Courses panel on your My Blackboard
page.
