The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires that employers develop and implement an exposure control plan. We have provided the attached model plan to assist departments, lab groups, etc. in developing a plan that meets the requirements of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard 29 CFR 1910.1030. Employers should review the plan, confirm that it is applicable to their situation or workplace, and check to see that the plan is implemented in their area. You may modify the model plan as necessary to fit the workplace, but you should complete the items listed in bold italic. Groups may need to add other information relevant to their particular site in order to have an effective and comprehensive plan.
