Terminology

 

Access level:

The different rights a NetID (user) is assigned to display or modify specific training information. The 6 levels of access are: Trainee, Supervisor, Safety Manager, Trainer, Security Editor and Organizational Editor. All NetIDs (users) have the 4 basic Trainee rights


CUWebLogin:

Authentication service used to access restricted Cornell University electronic services when SideCar is not available


Custom search:

View a report of specific training information by entering the specific Training Session, Attendance date(s), Expiration date(s), Organizational Unit, Department and/or NetID

Kerberos:

Electronic security system used by Cornell University to protect NetID password from theft

NetID:

A combination of alpha and numeric characters, Cornell University email address before "@cornell.edu". NetID information is based on data listed in Who I Am, Cornell University's electronic service

Department hosting the training

Safetybase:

Database created to track safety training and required certifications for employees, students, trainers, supervisors and safety managers. Information is accessible via the Internet and uses your Cornell University NetID as a unique identifier.

SideCar:

Program used to communicate with Kerberos to authenticate NetID access to restricted Cornell University electronic services
